Sir Ken Robinson: More on Creativity

We have to rethink the fundamental principles on which we're educating our children. And the only way we'll do it is by seeing our creative capacities for the richness they are, and seeing our children for the hope they are. Our task is to educate our whole being so they can face this future.

Are you meeting the creative needs of the students in your school? Are most of our schools?

Historically, education has been a very slow institution to reform. I fear too many of our peers feel they should teach the way they were taught, focusing on academics only, their subject only, their grade only, rather than having a broader picture. I'm thinking outside forces may have to move us along, just as the accountability era has proven to us that they have the power to do. Wouldn't it be nice if they decided to partner with us instead of bossing us?

Hi there!
I am really excited about all these new tools. I took a class at Region IV and learned about Animoto, Photostory, voice thread etc. It was wonderful. I have all sorts of ideas to use these things in school next year.
